Weather conditions can influence everyone's life on land, at sea, in the fields, and in various situations that depend on good conditions for work to proceed safely and reliably. In the oil and gas sector, it is no different. Offshore floating platforms often constantly suffer from weather conditions in their operations, depending on the nature of the work. For example, when using pipes with special metallurgy, difficulties may increase and compromise the productivity, quality, and safety of the installation of these tubular elements. This study is a case study that uses public data from governmental organizations that provide information on wind and tides, as well as performance indicators from the company under study regarding the installation of oil and gas well casings. Pipes with special metallurgy tend to be more sensitive regarding handling and tightening of connections during operations; however, they are necessary in wells that indicate corrosion rates that justify the use of such tubular elements. Therefore, their application becomes indispensable to meet project requirements.
