Abstract

This academic work analyzes the stock accuracy in a warehouse of a multinational company in the oil and gas sector, located in the municipality of Macaé-RJ. The research aims to evaluate the accuracy performance of this warehouse, using as a basis the cyclical counts carried out during the year 2023 (two thousand and twenty-three), in addition to the results presented through the company's indicators. The aim is, therefore, to analyze possible discrepancies identified in these counts, which compromise the reliability of stock records. Additionally, the study investigates bottlenecks in the processes of input and output of materials through process mapping, as well as the storage and counting procedures for materials in the warehouse. As for the methodology, considering the research of a qualitative and quantitative nature, the study is developed as a case study. The tools used by the company for inventory control are identified and a closed questionnaire is applied to collect information relevant to the analysis. Finally, process bottlenecks are also identified and, as a consequence, improvements are suggested to increase efficiency in controlling inventory accuracy. These improvements include the application of Production Engineering tools, such as the SWOT Matrix and 5W2H, aiming to optimize warehouse operations and ensure greater accuracy in records and deliveries to customers. The main proposed improvement is the implementation of the Power BI application to automate processes. To support the concepts presented in the research, renowned authors in the area are used, such as Accioly, Ayres and Sucupira (2008), Ballou (2006), Mendes, Dorta and Gonçalves (2021), among others.
