Abstract

The present work is circumscribed to the debates about gender inequality in the organizational environment and aimed to map organizational strategies that promote gender diversity in a multinational company in the oil and gas industry, located in the city of Macae, Rio de Janeiro. The study was based on the assumption that, although there are many productions and studies inherent to People Management and the adoption of diversity management in organizations, there is little material regarding the inclusion of women in the offshore industry. This study used the qualitative research method, in a descriptive, case study approach, where a semi-structured interview was conducted with the Recruitment and Selection coordinator of the aforementioned multinational company to collect data about gender diversity management (female and male) in this organization. Regarding data analysis, the content analysis method was chosen and used in the development of the research. The results obtained with this study show that female participation and representation has been growing considerably in the company and that there is no distinction between one gender and the other regarding selection processes, benefits, and salary remuneration, but the organization still does not have a specific policy for gender diversity or female representation.
