Abstract

This paper is part of a monography shown in 2020, whose theme is “Propose of didactic sequence: the utilization of ruler and compass software in the guideline of Plane Geometry on Final Years of Elementary School.” This study aimed to show one teaching strategy to stimulate geometric learning in the final years of Elementary School through ruler and compass software, making the student capable of realizing constructions through the computer screen, improving skills through more dynamic lectures. The research had a semi-structured questionary as an appliance, distributed by the Google Forms platform, for 125 graduation students of Mathematics of a public institution. Afterwards, the presentation of the captured results was done in a quantitative way, through demonstrative graphics. The data revealed the student and docent perception about the mathematic software utilization on geometry teaching and learning process. The results indicate continuing research through the application of the didactic sequence in the classroom. The methodologies adopted were: modeling mathematic, problem resolution, and mathematic technology. This study highlighted the presence of data processing in University Education. However, in Elementary School and High School, it seems not to be present. For this reason, investment is necessary for the initial formation of future mathematic teachers and the recycling of professionals.
