Abstract

The study deals with a critical review based on the book by Cipriano Carlos Luckesi, "Avaliação da Aprendizagem
Escolar", a classic work, in which the author brings together several scientific articles prepared throughout his
career on the topic of evaluation. This summary text aims to sharpen the reader's desire to know more about the
referenced work and, mainly, to reflect on the evaluation practices present in schools to this day. Luckesi's
book, despite its first edition being published in 1995, leads us to important reflections such as the school
as a democratic apparatus, teaching as a right for all and assessment as an instrument of social inclusion.
