Abstract

Algebra teaching presents significant challenges, especially when addressing topics such as notable products. This study investigated the use of Algeplan, a pedagogical tool that combines algebraic and geometric concepts, to improve 8th-grade students' understanding of these concepts. The research was conducted at a private school using a qualitative approach, with practical activities and a pedagogical workshop employing Algeplan. The first step involved diagnosing students' prior knowledge, followed by the implementation of the tool in the teaching process. The results indicated that Algeplan positively contributed to the understanding of notable products, especially by allowing students to visualize concepts in a more concrete and intuitive way. The tool proved effective in making learning more interactive and accessible, offering an alternative to traditional methods, which are often abstract and difficult to grasp. Additionally, the use of Algeplan fostered the development of cognitive skills, such as problem- solving and logical reasoning. In conclusion, Algeplan can be a valuable tool in algebra teaching, aligning with BNCC principles and offering an inclusive and effective methodology.
