This article is an excerpt from the Course Conclusion Paper, whose theme was "The reuse of materials as a methodology for teaching Statistics in Elementary Education". The research was carried out in the 5th and 9th years of Elementary Education in two schools municipal public schools, using interdisciplinary studies between the theme of Environment and Mathematics, which served to show the importance of reusing materials through statistical investigations. The results obtained according to the research showed that students understood the concept, importance and usefulness of Statistics, as well as the reuse of materials for the preservation of the environment, therefore, it was observed that the students understood that Mathematics is not just an isolated subject full of formulas, but that it is present in the students' daily lives.
